STORY FOR NAGANANDA

In some kingdom there was king and a queen and finally the son was born. But there was a war and the king and a queen were killed and their baby was carried away from the hostile regime by the wise men away from the kingdom. The wise men have changed their dresses and way of life for not to be found by the enemies. And they have brought up the boy with the consciousness of simple peasant, shepherd who lived the same life as all the rest of the simple boys. But in any case he managed to behave a strange elegant way and talked strange elegant manner, which was not liked by the others.
But one day, when the boy became mature enough, the wise man told him that he is a prince. And told him the truth about his background.
The prince was of course shocked much, and started to analyze his life and similar qualities he had with the king. The wise men helped him in this. He taught him meditation and told him much about his father, family, so that the prince could identify himself with it the best way.
This is a story about our consciousness. Once we are born, we do not remember anything about our previous lives, about our Spiritual Motherland. We are helpless creatures in some distant lands, surrounded by strange people and of course we live to coexist with them in different ways. We all live happily till one day we start to suspect that our real environment should be different, we do not fit to this place and time… We start asking questions, and then some wise people whisper in our ear, that we are…. Spiritual beings. And first we don’t understand what It actually mean. We discuss and argue, try to prove that we are common citizens, that we are peasants, shepherds and nothing more!
Then time pass and we start to believe in wise man words. And we realize that all this time he was leading us and helping us to get into the illusion as well as to get out of it… And step by step we get interested in this special nature of ourselves. We start to learn about our “motherland” – the Spirit we came from and that runs in our veins with the help of wise man.
Consciousness is the process of becoming a prince from the illusionary peasant. That is yoga.
